Sleepy Hollow Middle School Team Advances In Lego Robotics Competition SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Sleepy Hollow Middle School students taking part in the First Lego League Robotics Competition celebrated their third place finish Saturday in the competition which advances them to the next leg of the challenge. During the event, middle school students from throughout the region competed in teams while Sleepy Hollow teachers, parents, and student volunteers judged and ran the tournament. Suit Accuses Yorktown Of Violating Americans With Disabilities Act YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Yorktown officials are being accused of violating the Americans with Disabilities Act in a lawsuit that alleges that additional parking spaces pledged to bring the building toward compliance were removed, according to lohud.com. Bardonia Woman Killed After Being Hit By Car In New City ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Bardonia woman who was hit by a car Monday while walking along Route 304 in New City died Tuesday from her injuries, according to Clarkstown Police.Nancy Rico, 63, was found lying in the roadway by Clarkstown Police officers responding to the scene around 6:20 p.m., said Officer Peter Walker. Rico was transported by Nanuet Ambulance to Nyack Hospital where she died from her injuries early Tuesday, Walker said. Man Caught With Heroin, Cocaine, Pills At Fishkill Motel DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Agents with the Dutchess County Drug Task Force nabbed a Fishkill man on heroin and cocaine charges on Tuesday, Feb. 2, while serving a search warrant at a local motel, according to task force officials. Ryan S. Mayers, 26, was arrested after members of the task force moved in on a room at the Towne Inn on Route 9 following an investigation into drug dealing at that location, said Frank Tasciotti, assistant coordinator with the Dutchess County Drug Task Force. Driver Makes Plea Deal In Mahopac Crash That Killed Frances Ghelarducci A retired Carmel police officer has received a reduced charge of criminally negligent homicide in the death of Frances Ghelarducci during a fatal crash in 2015 in Mahopac, according to lohud.com. Richard O'Keefe received the reduced charge as part of a plea agreement for his part in the Nov. 14, accident that killed the former teaching aide at nearby Primrose Elementary School, said lohud.com. Sheriff's Deputies Save Two Overdose Victims In Dutchess DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dutchess county deputies saved the lives of two people who had overdosed on heroin in separate events on Friday and Sunday, by using Narcan, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.
