Ex-Patterson FD Treasurer Sentenced In $1M theft PATTERSON, N.Y. -- Albert Melin, the former Patterson Fire Department treasurer, accused of ripping off the department for more than a million dollars, was sentenced Friday to 33 months in prison, according to Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Melin, 46, who pleaded guilty in November to wire fraud and submitting false tax returns, could have faced up to 20 years in prison. Sprain Brook Parkway Chain-Reaction Nine-Car Crash Injures Two WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. --  Two people were injured during a nine-car pile-up on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers just after midnight Wednesday, according to authorities. The crash happened after a driver traveling southbound, north of Tuckahoe Road, hit the guardrail, spinning his vehicle into oncoming traffic, spolice said. The driver was then hit by two other vehicles, with other vehicles continuing to crash into the original wreck with a total of nine vehicles involved in the crash, police said.

Edwin Delahoz, 38, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and DWI after being stopped, said Lt. Keith Williams. During the stop, the officer noticed that Delahoz was intoxicated and subsequent tests showed that he was driving at twice the legal limit with a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent, police said.
