Mahopac Woman Faces Aggravated DWI Charge After Crash CARMEL, N.Y. -- A Mahopac woman, who was driving at twice the legal limit,  was charged with DWI after being involved in a traffic crash on Thursday, Feb. 2 in Carmel, police said. Jasmine Schwab, 26, was charged after she was involved in a crash around 1:30 a.m. on Lovell Street in Carmel, said Lt. John Dearman.  When officers arrived on scene they could tell that Schwab was intoxicated and a blood alcohol test was given in which she scored over 0.18 percent, police said.  She was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI and released on her own recognizance.

Police Ask Public's Help After Missing Cat Found At Cortlandt Train Station CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- Troopers from the Cortlandt barracks found an abandoned cat Thursday at the Cortlandt Train Station and are asking for the public's help to find its home. The senior female cat is black, tan, and brown. She was left on the train platform in a tan Woolrich carry case, said Trooper Melissa McMorris, spokeswoman for the New York State Police. Nyack Man Stole $1K From Lowe's In Orangeburg, Police Say ORANGEBURG, N.Y. -- Orangetown Police arrested a Nyack man on Monday after he stole more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from the Lowe's store in Orangeburg, according to the Orangetown Police. Mark Hauser, 24, was arrested following an investigation into a string of thefts at the store over a seven-day period, police said.
