Bomb Threat At Jewish Community Center On Hudson Prompts Evacuation
TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- The all-clear has been sounded at the Jewish Community Center on the Hudson in Tarrytown following a bomb threat Monday that caused the evacuation of the building and the bomb squad to respond, police said. The threat was called in by phone around 9:08 a.m. causing facility staff to contact the Tarrytown Police Department and to begin evacuating the center, said Tarrytown Lt. John Barbalet. Road Closed In Clarkstown For Tree Removal
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Motorists and residents should take note that Foxwood Road in West Nyack will be closed for several hours for tree removal.According to the Clarkstown's Highway Department, the road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in order for a large crane to be brought in to help with the removal. Highway flag personnel will be on hand directing drivers to detours. The main area of closure is 120 Foxwood Road. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- While Pound Ridge volunteer firefighters were busy getting ready for their second annual Pancake Breakfast Saturday evening, they received a call for help following a crash on East Woods Road. Members quickly assembled and responded with Assistant Chief Justine Brent first on the scene who found the car on its side with the driver unable to get out, said Capt. Sam Dodge. Man Charged With Driving At 3 Times Legal Limit After Pearl River Crash
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Garnerville man was charged with driving drunk at three times the legal limit following a crash Saturday in Pearl River, according to the Orangetown Police. Matthew Smahaj, 25, was charged after officers responded to a vehicle crash on North Middletown Road in Pearl River and while speaking with Smahaj they could smell alcohol and his speech was slurred, police said.
