Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Truck In Monmouth County A 61-year-old man was struck and killed by a pickup in Freehold on Tuesday, Jan. 9, authorities said. Freehold Township police responded to a crash on Route 9 South just after 5:30 p.m., Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago announced on Wednesday, Jan. 10. The crash happened a few hundred feet north of the interchange with New Jersey Route 33. Officers found the man lying in the road and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
