Woman Killed When SUV Crashes Into Woods Off Jersey Shore Road, Police Say A Manchester Township woman was killed when her SUV crashed into the woods in Lacey Township, authorities said. Rosemary Pfluge, 72, of Whiting, died in the crash on Saturday, Aug. 17, the Lacey Township Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to the scene on County Route 539 near milepost 20 at around 11:28 p.m. Police found a 2012 grey Jeep Liberty partially overturned about 50 feet in the woods. Body Found Near Shoreline At State Park Along Jersey Shore: Njdep A person was found dead near the shoreline of Barnegat Lighthouse State Park, officials said. State park police were dispatched to the area at around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, a state Department of Environmental Protection spokesperson said. The person's body was discovered off the western shore of the High Bar Harbor section in Long Beach Island Township. The body was sent to the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office.
