A woman entrusted with caring for other people’s animals is now accused of intentionally killing a dog in the Capital Region.
Yvette Giovanni, 57, of Halfmoon, was arrested Wednesday, July 9, after deputies executed a search warrant at her business, A Time Four Paws in the town of Halfmoon, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

An adolescent took part in the murder of a 20-year-old Saratoga County man, police said.
The minor, who was not named due to their age, was taken into custody Tuesday, June 17, in connection with the death of Simon Brault, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
An investigation determined the minor joined 18-year-old Jaiden Ildefanso in repeatedly stabbing Brault on Beresford Road in Clifton Park on Saturday, May 31, police said. Brault later died at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Handyman Takes $1K From Clifton Park Client Before Skipping Out On Work, Police Say
A purported handyman took a Capital Region client’s cash before skipping out on the work, police alleged.
Charles Ferrara, 52, of Schenectady, was arrested on suspicion of felony grand larceny on Sunday, June 8, following an investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Ferrara was hired by a Clifton Park resident to perform handyman-type work, and accepted a check for $1,045 from the client, deputies said.
But instead of performing the work, he cashed their check and cut all communication with the victim, according to investigators.

Matthew Dylewski, 33, and Samantha Dylewski, 32, of Glens Falls, were arrested on Wednesday, May 7 on suspicion of criminally negligent homicide in connection to the death of their young daughter, Joycelynn Ann Dylewksi, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Hartford County resident Gonzalo Paredes-Moscoso, 45, of New Britain, was arrested on assault and related charges Tuesday, March 25, stemming from a crash in Saratoga County.
Paredes-Moscoso had a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .18 percent or greater when he crashed his vehicle on State Route 146 near Fire Road in the town of Clifton Park on Tuesday, Feb. 4, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

A man is facing charges after he was allegedly found sleeping in a stolen car at a Capital Region gas station.
Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 7-Eleven on Route 50 in Wilton for a welfare check at around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Deputies arrived to find Joseph Plummer, 35, of Galway, asleep in a vehicle at a gas pump, the agency said. He had been sleeping in the car, which had been reported stolen out of Massachusetts, for several hours, according to police.

An early-morning fire tore through an apartment building in Saratoga County, killing one person and injuring six others Wednesday, Dec. 4, authorities said.

Moreau Man To Spend Years In Prison For Violent Sexual Attack
A Capital Region man found guilty by a jury of a violent 2023 attack and sexual assault faces up to 25 years in prison.
Saratoga County resident Michael Pelletier of Moreau was convicted on Wednesday, Sept. 25, for the Saturday, June 24, 2023 attack, said Saratoga County District Attorney Karen A. Heggen.
According to court documents and testimony, Pelletier violently assaulted a 32-year-old woman, physically and sexually, inside his home with children present.
The woman, who was injured all over her body, was transported to Saratoga Hospital for her injuries.
