A 16-year-old Hackettstown girl is missing, authorities announced Monday, Aug. 25. Lila G. Tisseverasinghe was last seen at 9 p.m. at her home in Hackettstown on Sunday, Aug. 24, Hackettstown police said. She is 5'1" and weighs 170 lbs., police said. She has brown eyes and dark brown hair, police said. She was last seen wearing a light gray t-shirt and pant set and wearing a red purse, police said. A 61-year-old bus driver was arrested and charged after a 4-year-old with special needs was left on a school bus for more than two hours in Morris County, authorities announced Monday, July 28. Airsoft Gun Mistaken For Rifle At NJ Walmart: Mansfield Police
A report of a person armed with a rifle in the parking lot at Walmart in Hackettstown led to a police response on Thursday, July 10, but it was all a false alarm, authorities said. Officers responded to the Walmart at 1885 Route 57, but determined the rifle was an airsoft gun being transported in a vehicle, Mansfield Township police said. The item was not carried outside of the vehicle and there is no threat to the public regarding the incident, police said.

A 35-year-old wanted Phillipsburg man has been charged with attempted murder after three people were stabbed inside a local home last weekend, authorities said. Marquis W.
