A Chinese gift card scammer’s $2.2 million fraud that resulted in a conviction in New York has him headed to federal prison, authorities said.
Jun Wang, 64, was sentenced to five years and 10 months behind bars on Tuesday, July 7 in Albany federal court, the Justice Department said.
In a secretly recorded conversation during the fraud, Wang spoke about an elderly victim with an FBI agent and told them, “The only loser is this lady,” and “Other than this lady, everybody’s happy,” investigators said.
