Chestnut Ridge Teen Builds Tiny House With A Lofty Goal ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Tiny houses might be all the rage on HGTV, but for a Chestnut Ridge teen, the itty, bitty homes are a way for him to make a difference about two things he is passionate about -- people in need and the environment. That's why Matthew Olson, 18, a senior at Green Meadow Waldorf School is building the first of what he hopes are many tiny houses as part of his required senior project. Man, 21, Teenage Girl Arrested After Violent Stony Point Fight, Police Say STONY POINT, N.Y. -- A Stony Point man and a teenage girl were arrested Sunday following a violent fight with each other in which the man hit the woman with a pipe and she slashed his back with a sharp object, Stony Point Police said. Off-Duty Officer, Nanuet Resident Arrested For DWI With Child In Car This story has been updated. An off-duty Spring Valley police officer was charged with DWI under Leandra's Law and drug possession after state police received repeated calls of an erratic driver Sunday on Route 17. Marc Miller, 46, of Nanuet, was arrested after the State Police in Monroe began receiving the calls from concerned drivers, said Trooper Steven Nevel, spokesman for the state police. Poughkeepsie Teacher On Leave Questioned About Vandalized Classroom POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The City of Poughkeepsie police say a Middle School teacher on administrative leave has been questioned about a classroom that was vandalized after he visited the school.
