Tractor-Trailer Destroyed After Hitting Overpass On Bronx River Parkway
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A tractor-trailer carrying appliances hit an overpass on the Bronx River Parkway around 3:20 a.m., Wednesday, blocking one southbound lane, said Westchester County Police.The truck, which was destroyed, struck the overpass between exits 11E and 11W north of the Cross County Parkway, police said.
Currently, southbound traffic is backing up past Tuckahoe Road on the Sprain Brook Parkway for several miles.
No injuries were reported, police said.

Terry Grosselfinger, Rockland Consumer Protection Chief, Dies At 68
Terry David Grosselfinger, 68, a Purple Heart recipient and Rockland County's consumer protection director, died Friday, May 19, at Hackensack University Center surrounded by his family following a battle with leukemia.
Grosselfinger was born and raised in Suffern, the only son of the late Dr. Harold and Anna (Val) Grosselfinger. He attended Ramapo Central Schools and graduated from Suffern High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army infantry during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

Dutchess Drug Task Force Nabs Poughkeepsie Man For Crack, Gun
A Poughkeepsie man was arrested Tuesday following a search of a home on South Grand Avenue in the City of Poughkeepsie that turned up drugs and a gun, according to the Dutchess County Drug Task Force.
Jason Brewster, 35, of 11 South Grand Ave., was busted following an investigation by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, along with the NYS Attorney General’s Office, New York State Police SIU, and City of Poughkeepsie Police Emergency Services Unit, said Frank Tasciotti, of the task force.

Poughkeepsie Woman Charged With Welfare Fraud
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A Poughkeepsie woman was charged Tuesday with welfare fraud following an investigation into accusations that she illegally received SNAP benefits, said the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.
Rudaina F. Murshed, 39, was arrested after the investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division, in conjunction with the Special Investigations Unit of the Dutchess County Community and Family Services Department, revealed Murshed received more than $5,315 in SNAP benefits between Feb 1, 2015, to April 30, 2016, said Capt.
