In a result that will surprise no New Jersey native, the state was ranked as one of the least polite states in the country, according to a survey by Preply.
Joining New Jersey on the ignominious list were its neighbor in brusqueness, New York, and Nevada, which managed to be ruder than both states, no small feat.

Newly Minted Millionaire: Powerball Lottery Player Takes Home $2M In South Jersey
There is a new millionaire in South Jersey.
One lucky Powerball lottery ticket matched five of the five white balls for the Wednesday, Feb. 28, drawing.
The ticket won a $1 million second-tier prize. The ticket was purchased with the Power Play option, multiplying the win to $2 million, state Lottery officials said.
The winning ticket was sold at Smoker’s Outlet, 123 W. Clements Bridge, Runnemede in Camden County.
The winning numbers for the Wednesday, Feb. 28, drawing were: 16, 26, 29, 38 and 50. The Red Power Ball number was 06. The Power Play was 2X.

Morris County HS Freshman Critical After Struck By Vehicle On Route 46: Fundraiser
A freshman at Morris Hills High School is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle on Thursday, Feb. 22 on Route 46 in Rockaway, according to a fundraiser set up to support his family.
Emmanuel Ramnarain sustained a traumatic brain injury and is at Morristown Medical Center, Kristyn Dietrich, a family friend of Ramnarain's and the organizer of the fundraiser, said. Doctors are closely monitoring the swelling in his brain, Dietrich said.
As of Wednesday, Feb. 28, the fundraiser has raised more than $24,000.
