Young Stamford Gymnast Vaults To Forefront In State Competition STAMFORD, Conn. -- Carlee Reid arrived at Stamford’s Arena Gymnastics as a 3-year-old preschooler, and Arena has been her second home ever since. Now, the 11-year-old is on the fast track toward a promising gymnastics career. Last month, Carlee won the USA Gymnastics Level 8 all-around and balance beam state championship titles. She won her age group and posted the highest all-around score of any Level 8 in the state. Ossining Girls Basketball Coach, Players Earn State-Wide Honors OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining High School girls basketball coach Dan Ricci earned Coach of the Year honors for New York from USA Today. Two Ossining players also won individual honors. Jalay Knowles, a senior, was named to New York’s first team by the daily newspaper. Shadeen Samuels, a junior, was named to the second team. Ossining finished 23-3 and won the Class AA girls basketball championship. Norwalk Tennis Kids Learn Life Skills From Westport Woman NORWALK, Conn. -- The focus of Norwalk Grassroots Tennis is about much more than serves, slams and overheads for underprivileged players. Cathy Osterhout sees to that. The Westport woman, who formerly lived in Weston, also teaches life skills to the students. Former Waccabuc Resident Paltrow Finalizes Divorce Deal, Report Says LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- Gwyneth Paltrow, a former resident of Waccabuc, and former husband Chris Martin finalized their divorce agreement on Monday, according to TMZ. The report said business managers worked out the details. A judge needs to approve paperwork for the settlement to be finalized. William A. Sharman, 88, Architect And Lifelong Briarcliff Manor Resident BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- William A. Sharman, a lifelong resident of Briarcliff Manor, died on April 18 at the age of 88. At 17, he graduated in his junior year from Briarcliff High Schooll and enlisted in the Army Reserve Program while attending Princeton University. He later transferred to the Army Air Corps and served as an aerial engineer on B-26 bombers.
