Norwalk Man Steals Car From Dealership After Test Drive, Then Sells Vehicle, Police Say
An arrest has been made in a stolen vehicle case related to an incident that began at a Connecticut CarMax with a test drive by a Fairfield County man.
The incident took place in New Haven County at the CarMax located at 1121 West Frontage Road in East Haven.
On Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, officers were dispatched to CarMax, for a stolen motor vehicle report, said the East Haven Police.

Fake ID Scam: Thousands Of Dollars Swindled From Fairfield County Resident, Police Say
A man has been charged with larceny and identity theft after allegedly using a fake ID to steal more than $20,000 from a Fairfield County resident.
Archie Longson, age 44, of New York City, was arrested by Wilton Police on Monday, March 27 on a warrant.
The victim first learned of the crime in April 2022, when they found two fraudulent transactions on their bank account for a total of $20,500; a withdrawal of $8,000 was also made at a bank in Connecticut, and a bank check in the name of Longson was purchased for the amount of $12,500, said Capt. Gregg Phillipson, of the Wilton Police.

A 40-year-old woman is accused of using another person’s identity to pawn stolen goods at a Long Island business, authorities said.
Jacqueline Nollman Hubbard, age 40, of Hauppauge, was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 21 near a pawn shop in Lindenhurst, according to Suffolk County Police.
Detectives began investigating after discovering suspicious activity by someone who sold new items at the store between Feb. 8 and 14.

An elderly man from the region was scammed out of thousands of dollars by a fraudster posing as a city worker, authorities said.
Rensselaer County resident Joseph Celeone, age 40, of Troy, was arrested Monday, Feb. 6, for grand larceny and criminal impersonation, according to the Watervliet Police Department in Albany County.
Detectives were initially contacted in late December 2022 by a 75-year-old Watervliet resident who told police he was approached by a man claiming to work for the City of Watervliet.

A former volunteer firefighter on Long Island is facing criminal charges for allegedly impersonating an NYPD officer and then doubling down on her lie when confronted by superiors, authorities said.
Mary Ortega, age 46, of Wading River, was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation and other charges in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

A woman and man are facing charges after a burglary and fight with officers in Connecticut.
At around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24, troopers from Troop C in Tolland responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked behind a residence on Middle Turnpike, in Mansfield.

Coram Man Accused Of Making False 911 Calls, Impersonating Nypd Officer
A Long Island man was charged after investigators found that he made multiple false 911 calls over a two-year span.
Andrew Welcom, age 34, of Coram, was arrested at 12:40 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, and charged with five counts of falsely reporting an incident and two counts of criminal impersonation, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
Police said Welcom made a 911 call on Thursday, Aug. 18, saying a woman had been assaulted and any officers who tried to enter a Lake Ronkonkoma home to help her would be shot.
