A HUGE thank you to the lifeguards, at Silver Lake, for the job that they do!! I never knew that drowning victims are silent and hard to spot until after my brother almost drowned in the ocean. He later said that he wasn't able to call for help because he was too busy trying to get a breath. Luckily, someone on the beach noticed him struggling and called for help.
To find out more about the symptoms of silent drowning you can find lots of information by doing a Goggle search for "silent drowning symptoms". It just might save someone's life. http://suite101.com/article/silent-death-it-is-hard-to-recognize-when-a-child-is-drowning-a362044 View Comment
I have to agree with JLW. It was only until recently I thought that it was just an unfinished wall and wondered when they were going to get around to finishing it. Then I read that it WAS finished!! Imagine that....all that money spent on a wall that looks awful. As someone who makes quilts, I think they should paint each panel different colors and call it a quilt!! View Comment
East Brookfield will be fortunate to have Mr. Tomlin as their new principal. He was wonderful as he worked with my son, who unfortunately spent more time in the office than I would have preferred. Good luck with your new position, Mr. Tomlin!! View Comment
Keeping chickens isn't hard and they can be fun and relaxing to watch as they peck around looking for tidbits on the ground. Pull up a chair, sit down with a cup of tea or your favorite beverage and watch some "Chicken TV"!!
A very helpful and friendly forum for either new or experienced chicken owners is http://www.backyardchickens.com/f/
Good luck to all who want to start this wonderful backyard hobby. View Comment
