SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Shrewsbury High School athletics lost one of their own this year in April when golf coach Leo Murray passed away.
"For those of you who knew Coach Murray, he was a dedicated, kind, caring man who developed deep, meaningful relationships with players and their families," Principal Todd Bazydlo said in a statement. "Mr. Murray was an outstanding role model for our student athletes and served as an outstanding mentor to our younger coaches."
Murray was active with the booster club and was chairman of the annual golf tournament.
This season, Shrewsbury won the Central Mass. Division 1 gold championship under the leadership of new coach Alan Simonian, who dedicated the season to Murray's memory.
