SHREWSBURY, Mass. ‒ Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School has honored 60 seniors with John and Abigail Adams Scholarships. Four were from Shrewsbury: Brett Kays, Kaira Hendrickson, Olivia Harbert, and Tyler Chaulk.

The scholarship provides a tuition waiver at any Massachusetts college or university for up to eight semesters. Students are responsible for room and board and other fees.

"This is the largest group of scholarship recipients we've had so far," said Assabet Principal Mark Hollick. "You should be very proud of yourselves and your accomplishments. We expect you to continue to be high achievers as you go forward from Assabet Valley."

The scholarships are awarded based on students' math and English MCAS scores during their sophomore year. Combined scores must be among the top 25 percent of the students' class.
