SHREWSBURY, Mass. – Superintendent of Schools Joseph Sawyer is waiting until morning to determine whether Shrewsbury students will return to school Tuesday.
Hurricane Sandy knocked out school Monday for Shrewsbury students when Sawyer pre-emptively made the call Sunday in response to forecasts that had the worst of the wind and rain hitting in the afternoon.
Shrewsbury Electric & Cable Operations reported multiple outages in town, most of which were quickly restored. The brunt of Hurricane Sandy's power is expected to leave the area around midnight.
