SHREWSBURY, Mass. — One of the top stories of 2012 was that of a Shrewsbury man who was inspired by a mass murderer.
Kevin Forts of Shrewsbury was charged with making threats of violence at Assumption College while he was a student in 2011. Forts was reportedly inspired by Anders Behring Breivik, the man who massacred 77 people – many of them teens – in two attacks in Norway.
Assumption College police said they found literature connected to the threats, including a manifesto written by Breivik. In April, Forts spoke with Norway's VGTV about his support for Breivik, the letters he wrote him and his desire to meet Breivik. During the interview, said Breivik's attack was "atrocious but necessary."
