WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — After being ordered to wait for his bail hearing at Westborough District court Wednesday, George Berbarian of Worcester ran out the door, according to court records.
Berbarian, 23, was apprehended in Shrewsbury and his bail hearing resumed Thursday, police said. He was held on $1,200 cash bail on larceny charges.
Berbarian is alleged to have stolen $1,800 in merchandise from Dick's Sporting Goods in Northborough from Oct. 20 to Nov. 29, police said. He admitted to the thefts, police said.
There are currently has four open cases against him, including a charge for breaking and entering, according to police.
He was arrested Nov. 29 and is due back at Westborough District Court for a pretrial hearing Dec. 17.
