GRAFTON, Mass. – Walter A. Scott of Grafton died Jan. 19. He was 81.
He was born July 1, 1931, in Worcester to Andrew and Mary Winning Scott. He graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1951 and served in the Air Force.
A longtime Grafton resident, Scott worked at Lundgren and Jonaitis Dairy Farm in Shrewsbury as well as Valley Brook Dairy Farm and Gibson Dairy Farm, both in Worcester. He was a longtime member of Matthew John Whittall Masonic Lodge in Shrewsbury, where he was a past master.
Scott was also a member of Worcester Lodge of Perfection and the Scottish Rite Bodies. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, traveling, gardening and bird-watching. He was a fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and Florida State Seminoles.
Scott is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lois M. Shaw Scott; three daughters, Sandra J. (George Fitton) Scott, of Worcester, Diana L. (James) Simonelli, and Heather L. (James Jr.) Brawn, of Grafton; two sisters, Janet (Joseph) DeNapoli, of Southborough, and Barbara Houston, of Northborough; a brother, James R. (Jenny) Scott, of Wilmington, N.C.; and seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Roney Funeral Home in North Grafton. Members of Matthew John Whittall Lodge will hold the Masonic Funeral Ritual at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Congregational Church of Grafton. Burial with military honors will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton.
