SHREWSBURY, Mass. - Gladys M. (Hendrickson) Johnson, 92, died peacefully Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at the Shrewsbury Nursing Home. She was the widow of George C. Johnson who died in 1997.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families as well as four foster sons, Paul and David Rask and Darryl and Wayne Page. She was predeceased by her sister Shirley LaBrie.
Born in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late Mathilda (Grankull) and Axel E. Hendrickson. Gladys was a 1939 graduate of Commerce High and was a bookkeeper at Worcester County Hospital in Boylston, retiring in 1972. She lived in Worcester until moving to Shrewsbury in 1996. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Southworks VFW Auxiliary (charter member), and Joel Prouty Lodge O.E.S. #224.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester.
