SHREWSBURY, Mass. – Jeanne C. Brodeur Gannon of Shrewsbury died Feb. 8 at home with family by her side. She was 87.

Gannon was born June 22, 1925, and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Wilfrid and Alberta David Brodeur. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1943 and was a longtime employee of the Town of Shrewsbury.

She started her career with the town in the treasurer's department. She later worked for the light department for many years before retiring in 1995.

Gannon was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Shrewsbury for more than 60 years. She was also a member of the Shrewsbury Women's Business Club. She enjoyed traveling, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren, her family said.

She is survived by three daughters, Paula Jeanne (Anthony Connor) Gannon, of Riverdale, N.Y., Donna Marie Flanagan, of Norwood, Mass., and Deborah Anne (Peter) Whelan, of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Rita Bouthillier and Doris Kalil, both of Shrewsbury; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 10 nephews, eight nieces and many friends.

Gannon was predeceased by her husband of 29 years, Shafick "Jack" Gannon, in 1980; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Whelan; three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
