SHREWSBURY, Mass. – Doris M. Cappuccio Erickson, a longtime Shrewsbury resident, died Feb. 1 at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester. She was 87.
Erickson was born in Worcester to Frank and Elizabeth Baroni Cappuccio. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and worked as a bookkeeper for several local companies.
A longtime Shrewsbury resident, Erickson loved cooking, reading and walking the beach. She and her husband enjoyed spending summers on Wells Beach in Maine.
She was a longtime member of the Mount Olivet Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Victor Quaranta American Legion Post in Shrewsbury.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard R. Erickson, in 2008. Erickson is survived by four children, David Erickson, of Leominster, Janice (Arthur) LeBlanc, of Newburyport, and Roger Erickson and Robert Erickson, both of Shrewsbury; a brother, Frank Capp, of Studio City, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Shrewsbury. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Shrewsbury. Following cremation, burial at Mountain View Cemetery will be private.
