Anna Mastro, 85, Lifelong Shrewsbury Resident

SHREWSBURY, Mass. – Anna M. Mastro of Shrewsbury died Feb. 13 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She was 85.

Mastro was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Shrewsbury to William F. and Viola Congahilia Mastro Sr. A lifelong Shrewsbury resident, she graduated from Maj. Howard W. Beal High School. She worked as a knitter at the former Worcester Knitting Company for 25 years.

She was a communicant of St. Anne's Church in Shrewsbury. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.

She is survived four siblings, Vincent W. Mastro, Anthony R. (Betty) Mastro and Helen Zingarelli, all of Shrewsbury, and Elsie Shean, of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews.

Mastro was predeceased by eight siblings, John V. Mastro, Benny Mastro, William F. Mastro Jr., Lena Chenevert, Frances Ruggere, Mary Driscoll, Margaret Archambo and Eva Rose.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Heald and Chiampa Funeral Directors Sumner House in Shrewsbury Center. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, at St. Anne's Church in Shrewsbury. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
