CHELSEA, Mass. - Peter P. Barbour, 65, of Chelsea, formerly of Worcester died Sunday, Feb. 26.
He leaves five children, Katherine A. McNamara and her husband Mark of Barre, Patrick P. Barbour and his wife Jane of Shrewsbury, Melissa H. Poirier and her husband Jeremiah of Thompson, CT, Christopher M. Barbour and his wife Katharine of Holden and Joseph L. Barbour of Worcester; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Nancy Masterson of Worcester and Mary Navin of Paxton and nieces and nephews. A brother, Gerald Barbour predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester, son of Joseph and Doris (Collins) Barbour and graduated from St. Peter's High School, Worcester Polytechnic Insitute and Worcester State College.
Peter was a computer programmer for MediTech, retiring due to illness. He was a former member of St. Peter's Church. Peter was an avid runner and was a member of the Stridders Club in Worcester. He was involved with several organizations for the cure of ALS. Peter also loved spending time with his family.
The Funeral will be held Wednesday, Febr. 29, from Callahan & Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
