Shrewsbury Formally Joins Veterans District

SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Shrewsbury Selectmen voted unanimously Tuesday to join the new regional veterans-assistance district, which was revamped in accordance with a 2012 state mandate.

Shrewsbury, Grafton and Northborough had been providing veterans with state aid since 1999 under a district run by World War II veteran Richard Perron. He is resigning effective April 30.
