SHREWSBURY, Mass. – Shrewsbury Selectmen bid a public fond farewell to a familiar face Tuesday. The board announced that its secretary of 13 years, Janice McCoy, is retiring as of Dec. 31.
Selectmen issued a proclamation recognizing McCoy’s service at her last board meeting Tuesday. The proclamation acknowledged her service and skills, including her familiarity with the “idiosyncrasies” of board members throughout the years.
McCoy thanked the board, noting, “They’re all my friends.”
Selectmen on Tuesday also welcomed their new secretary, Christine Mattero, a former group leader with the Marion E. Zeh Elementary School in Northborough.
