SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Members of the Shrewsbury Police Patrolman's Local 426 are thrilled after a successful toy drive. Enough toys were donated Saturday to fill the department's patrol wagon.

Hot chocolate and cookies were served, and Santa was on hand to greet the young and young at heart who arrived bearing gifts for the Toys for Tots Foundation.

David Faucher of the Shrewsbury Police Department said the community's outpouring was "unbelievable."

"The community really stepped up," Faucher said. "This exceeded our expectations twofold."

For those who couldn't be there Saturday but would still like to contribute, a Toys for Tots donation box will be at the police station until Dec. 16.
