SHREWSBURY, Mass. ‒ If you know a teen whose service to the community could be a model for others, you might want to nominate him or her for an Outstanding Youth of Shrewsbury Award.
Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services will present the award at its 30th Anniversary Gala on Feb. 9.
The award recognizes teens who have showed an exceptional commitment to volunteering for the good of others. This nominee should also be an inspiration to those who have faced challenges or obstacles in their lives.
Any student in grades 9-12 who lives in Shrewsbury is eligible. The student does not have to attend school in Shrewsbury nor does the volunteer work have to be limited to Shrewsbury.
Nominations can be made by anyone, a parent, teacher, clergy or neighbor. Nomination forms are available on the SYFS website. All nominations must be received by Nov. 30.
Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services, Inc., is a private, non-profit human service agency that is the primary provider of social services for Shrewsbury families.
