NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — The Avidia Bank Charitable Foundation recently awarded the Assabet Valley Mastersingers a $2,500 grant to support the "Voice of Light" concert scheduled for March 3.

"Voice of Light" will merge the silent film "The Passion of Joan of Arc" with a live performance of a score by award-winning composer Richard Einhorn. The Mastersingers will be joined by four vocal soloists and the Worcester Children's Chorus.

The Mastersingers are 70 vocalists from more than 20 towns who perform classic choral works, as well as new peices by contemporary composers. Concerts are in November, March and May each year, plus the annual Messiah Sing in December.

The next Mastersingers concert will be Nov. 10 at St. Mary's Church, Shrewsbury. Titled "Bach and Handel: A Different View," the concert will begin at 8 p.m.
