SHREWSBURY, Mass. – A Shrewsbury High School freshman girl got close to one of the biggest teen idols in the world in Boston on Monday. Very close. Serenaded with music and roses close.
According to family and friends, Shrewsbury’s Jordyn Olivieri was chosen from an audience at the TD Garden in Boston on Monday night to appear on stage with Justin Bieber, who sang the last part of “One Less Lonely Girl” to her.
In a YouTube video, Bieber is seen handing a beaming Olivieri roses and gives her a hug after the performance.
In an interview Tuesday, Jordyn’s mother, Beth, said her daughter was a “Belieber” from early on, and that the concert made “a young girl’s dream come true.”
Beth recounted how, on the way to the concert, Jordyn was unhappy at having forgotten a hairbrush. “I said, come on, there’s thousands of girls there. There’s no way he’s going to see you,” Beth said. “About half way through the concert, I get a text that says ‘Jordyn’s on stage with Justin Bieber.'”
