SHREWSBURY, Mass. – Shrewsbury families are invited to take a stroll around Jordan Pond and enjoy a story along the way thanks to the Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library and the Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation Department.

The story walk, which covers the one-third of a mile paved walking trail around Jordan Pond, will feature "Sheep Take a Hike" by Nancy Shaw.

At a series of stops along the way, children will enjoy pages of the misadventures of the three silly sheep, illustrated by Margot Apple. Families will delight in the rhyming text, and many children will recognize the seagull friend that shadows the sheep on their adventure. Those who walk the entire loop will find a delightful surprise ending for this story.

The Jordan Pond trail is open dawn to dusk, and the story begins at the Ridgeland Road entrance.

The Story Walk will run July 16 through 20.
