SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Songs of comfort and joy filled the air at the town common in Shrewsbury on Sunday night, as local residents, decked in their best Santa hats and reindeer-themed accessories, came together to celebrate the season.

About 1,000 people of all ages attended the 12th Annual Caroling In The Common event, ramping up the holiday cheer by singing traditional holiday songs.
