SHREWSBURY, Mass. — A celebration of Indian heritage, as well as Shrewsbury's own Indian culture, will be held Saturday at the Shrewsbury First Congregational Church at 19 Church Road.
The event begins with a dinner at 6 p.m. featuring traditional Indian food in addition to Western potluck dishes.
A performance of classical and modern music and dance from India will begin at 7 p.m. to be "performed by people from the Indian community of Shrewsbury, Worcester and beyond," said Malcolm Halliday, chairman of Arts on the Green, which is organizing the event.
Proceeds will benefit the restoration fund of the church's 200-year-old steeple.
