WESTPORT, Conn. The Westport PAL seventh-grade girls basketball team defeated the Norwalk eighth-grade girls, 25-8, on Monday in the Dave Finch Tournament at Ben Franklin School in Norwalk.
Westport led 12-0 at halftime and maintained its advantage in the second half to improve to 1-1 in the tournament and to 5-2 overall for the season. The tournament concludes Saturday. Westport returns to action in the Fairfield County Basketball League on Jan. 6 with a game against Fairfield.
Westport is coached by Ashley Delvecchio. Players include Julia Brower, Megan Brown, Virginia Gerig, Amelia Hunt, Grace McGinley, Morgan McWhirter, Claire Meehan, Charlotte Rossi, Rachel Seideman and Olivia Troy.
