BRONXVILLE, N.Y. Bronxvilles Class C state football champions are on a 14-game winning streak and Tuckahoes Class D state title holders have not lost since being defeated by the Broncos last October. Game on.
Bronxville, 2-0 with wins over Dobbs Ferry and Hastings, hosts neighborhood rival Tuckahoe, also 2-0, Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in an early season game that may be the toughest on the schedule for both teams. The visiting Tigers easily defeated Rye Neck on opening day and blanked Albertus Magnus 32-0 last Saturday, so the stage is set for this weeks battle of Route 22.
I won't be suiting up -- I hyper-flexed my foot against Albertus Magnus, Tuckahoes Joe Guerriero said. But I think Bronxville is a good test for us to see how good of a football team we are. We did back-to back-shutouts, which is hard, so I think playing Bronxville is going to be a good game. We know we got the talent here, this game is going to be decided by who wants it more.
The Tigers defense has been as good as last year and the offense, despite losing the entire senior backfield, is showing signs that it can score points. The Tigers are led by quarterback Mike Castracucco and lead running back Shyheim Nixon, with help from Nick Reisman, Kayvon Reid and Mike DiLago in the backfield. Nixon rushed for 105 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown run, and returned a kick 75 yards for another score.

We havent been scored on this season but we're facing a tough Bronxville team this Saturday, Moss said. Everyone needs to step it up a notch because we all know this will be the biggest and toughest game of the season.
The Broncos went 12-0 last year, including a 33-14 victory over the Tigers, who went on to a 10-1 record after losing at home to Bronxville in the league championship game. Each team lost a loaded senior class, but Bronxville did return its twin-sibling backfield of Jackson and Christian Conway. Christian Conway is the teams leading rusher.
Look for Tuckahoe to use its speed on the outside to avoid Bronxvilles bigger linemen. Bronxville relies on its running game with Christian Conway leading the way.
