Who Are These Larchmont Lovers?

For years the Manor Park gazebos have been a place where couples would express their love for each other by carving their initials into the benches inside the gazebos.

In recent weeks painters have been hired to re-paint the gazebos and cover the carvings in the benches

“I enjoyed the initials, I always wondered what became of the couples who engraved their initials into the gazebos,” Melanie Cohen said.

The number of initials inside the gazebos has increased throughout the years and while there is no way to know when the first initials were carved, the question of what has become of the couples remains.

“I think it would be really neat to see if any of the couples can be found and if they are still together,” Cohen said.

The initials may be gone from the gazebos, but the memories from the couples that carved them remains.

The Daily Larchmont would like to find some of the people who belong to those initials and find out if their love lasted.

If you carved your initials in either one of the gazebos in Manor Park please contact the Daily Larchmont and tell us your story.
