An American Red Cross blood drive will be held in Shrewsbury on Thursday, February 21st at the Shrewsbury Senior Center, 98 Maple Ave. from 2:00 PM- 8:00 PM. This drive is open to the public and residents from al surrounding towns are invited to participate. Appointments are preferred, but walk-in donors are also welcome. The Red Cross is hoping to collect at least 41 life-savings pints of blood at this drive.

ALL DONORS WILL RECEIVE A FREE LUNCH PACK FROM CUMBERLAND FARMS AND A FREE TICKET TO FRANK’S COMEDY SAFARI SHOW AT VIVA BENE RESTAURANT!

The Red Cross has to collect 3,000 pints of blood everyday to meet the basic needs of patients throughout the New England Region. In the United States, blood is needed for transfusions every two seconds. This blood can only come from caring volunteer donors. All blood types are needed, blood type O is the universal donor and always in GREAT need.

If you are in good health, weigh 110 pounds or more, and have not given blood in the past 56 days you may try to donate. The American Red Cross now requires a positive ID before donating. You must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parental consent form).

Please call 1-800-REDCROSS or visit redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment to donate. Please help the Red Cross maintain a safe and available blood supply for the community.
