Foam and Textile Recycling

Foam: $1/bag, $5/carload. Textiles: Free
Shrewsbury Recycles is hosting its first recycling event.
Foam Material:
Please remove all tape, paper, etc. from foam. Food and drink containers must be clean and free of food.
Foam Material – Accepted:
Packing blocks
Hot cups such as from Dunkin' Donuts, Honey Dew, and Cumberland Farms
Packing peanuts (must snap & must not disintegrate when in water)
Foam egg cartons
Produce and meat trays with the recycle symbol in the triangle (biodegrable trays do not have a recycle symbol)
Trays
Take out containers (please rinse)
White insulation sheets
Foam Material – Not accepted:
Plastic utensils
Bubble wrap
Soft foam such as pipe insulation
"Super 8" packing peanuts
Biodegradable packing peanuts
Foam cups infused with cardboard or paper, such as iced tea cups from McDonald's and Burger King
Biodegradable produce and meat trays.Cardboard Egg Cartons
Soft foam pads
Food containers with plastic film attached. Some ground turkey comes in these containers.
Blue or Pink insulation sheets, unless in full size sheets
Polypro that looks like Styrofoam but has number 5 recycle symbol
Textiles
Stuffed animals, blankets, pillows, shoes (even just half a pair), belts, purses, clothes and curtains will be sent to Bag2School. Money earned from the textiles will be donated to non-profit, Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services (SYFS).
