SHREWSBURY, Mass. - The American Red Cross hopes to collect at least 41 pints of life-saving blood Thursday in Shrewsbury.
The blood drive will be from 2-8 p.m. at the Shrewsbury Senior Center, 98 Maple Ave.The drive is open to the public. Appointments are preferred, but walk-in donations are welcome.
Donors will receive a free lunch pack from Cumblerand Farms and a free ticket to Frank's Comedy Safari Show at the Viva Bene restaurant.
The Red Cross needs to collect 3,000 pints of blood daily to meet the basic needs of patients throughout the New England region. All blood types are needed, with type O always in great need.
Those who are at least 17, or 16 with signed parental consent, in good health, weighing more than 110 pounds and who haven't donated in the past 56 days are welcome to donate.
The Red Cross now requires a positive ID before donating.
